AMBITION IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS SUCCESS
"passionate about improving the educational attainment of care experienced young people"
“Younger Generation Can have been working with Virtual Schools since 2015 to improve the educational attainment of care experienced young people, by offering an online mentoring program as well as face to face group work sessions.”
What is Me, Myself and I?
This project is based on early intervention principles. If we can encourage young people to explore their attitudes, motivation and desire to achieve academically at a younger age, then young people are more likely to reach their full potential.
This approach is based upon the cognitive dissonance paradigm, which considers individual complexities associated with living in the 'real' world and takes into account the knowledge base of young people, peer pressure, self-esteem and lots of other variables that are interdependent, and which ultimately impact on decision making processes.

Working in partnership with Debbie Marshall from Virtual School to create a bespoke, aspirational package of support for young people.
Donna Higgins has worked extensively with children and families throughout her career, and has a great deal of experience, and understanding in relation to the barriers faced by vulnerable groups of people within our communities. Donna has worked with both primary and secondary schools, delivering projects to reduce the attainment gap and ensure that children and young people living in deprived areas, achieve their full potential. By working with other agencies to source support, Donna ensures that the voice of the child remains central to any agreed intervention.
